Hi Richard, very good idea here and well exposed I believe, but the composition feels a little awkward to me. I would suggest to have moved over to your left and try angles where there would be less space between the branch and the sunrise, and more space on the right side of the image.
I like this unusual juxtaposition. You almost always see some warm, summer-type foreground with a sunset shot. This ice-covered branch with a warm-looking sunset is unique, and it makes you think. The fill flash adds just enough emphasis, without being too obvious. Great job!
