Nice reflection. I tried cropping the top 1/3 or so, and IMHO it made the image stronger. Do you agree? Also, it looks a little soft, either from the scan or from the negative itself. Was this taken on a tripod?
I don't think B&W was the best film choice for this subject. Typically our eyes are drawn to the part of the picture that has the greatest contrast, whether it's a color contrast, tonal contrast, texture contrast, or whatever else. Without color, the tonal contrasts are strongest and the big bright area of the duck's flanks and the bright spot on the log are distracting my attention from the duck's activity, drinking water.
OTOH the duck and its reflection are using a substantial portion of the picture area, which is good. If this were color the bright colors of the duck's bill and plumage would have drawn my attention to the bird.
