It looks like you wanted to bring out shadows more, and you sacrificed highlights in the process. I really like this photo composition wise, but somehow the burned highlights are detrimental to the overall aspect of the photo. Perhaps shooting raw and increasing the dynamic range using layers in pp might help? Best regards. Radu.
