The amazing power of light......... here the sun really looks like a big...excplotion at that backyard, amazing how these strong lighting conditions can give a very very nice result, you take the risk and you did well my friend.

Oh well, I don't consider that kind of perfectness to be always wishable. When I start posting the "crazy" photos you will se what I mean. A nice coloring of some sunrise might look good, but photography has much more in it than that.

i dont know much about Slr i myself looking forward to upgrade to DSLR Nikon .... but i think Nick my composition r behind every image original looks pretty strange! try to work with levels and contrast in Photoshop and see how your images come clean and perfect :)

The analog SLRs that I use have programs and auto settings too, but they also show what aperture and exposure time they automatically adjust, so that one knows what the camera actually does.
But the thing is that no matter of analog or digital those programmatic settings are adjusted with respect to an average reflection of a 16% gray color. And of course the world doesn't consist of 16% gray. So auto settings are only some kind of "average good photography" but one can't really create something new according to some vision that exists in mind long before capturing it. Not to speak about the usual failure of auto settings on extremely bright or dark objects that deviate significantly from the average of 16% gray.

i use Digital point and shoot... i take pictures on (Programe Mode) Auto settings ... i think you should upgrade to digital SLR its easy to upload and use and also good quality images!

Discovery is not a matter of dreaming but rather a matter of *thinking* and hard hard hard work!
Having said that, let's turn to the image itself. A very unusual capture, Ace, that turns light to something that I can almost hold in my hands. Any chances to know your settings here? I am trying to make such captures but I always end up in extremely underexposured images. How in world did you get that?
