Q. Photomatix?

Has anyone used the Photomatix software? Any good?

Yes provided that you want to patiently play with the images. It is a slow process , works with multiple exposures, and has a wide variety of outcomes depending on the tone mapping choices that you make.
More hit and miss than just run an image thru this software.

I've had extremely good results with Photomatix Pro. I highly recommend it if you want to get into HDR, even though CS2 can do HDR, Photomatix is much more controllable, more powerful, and often yields better results than CS2, surprisingly.

I'll put this question in a slightly different way. Is there a better HDR soft?
I am using Photomatix Pro for a couple of weeks and I am very satisfied with it. Especially with it's latest 2.4 version.
I'd wanted some functions to be improved though (aligning, ghost removing).
Well. I highly recommend it. And forget about PS.
