  Q. Colorize, science
Ryan McMillen
Asked by Ryan McMillen    (K=1218) on 10/19/2005
For a microscope called the Scanning electron microscope no color is put into the final image, since the image is only electrons and not a color wave you get a black and white photo.....I have been trying some things to make my images vibrant and not so cut and pasted color to them.....welll here is my question....what are some good ways of colorizing that produces vibrant colors, with min. detail loss and that doesnt look to tacky.........if you would like to see an sem image just search google under well.....sem image.

I would colorize in Photoshop. Select area you want to colorize and turn them into new layers. The go to Image -> Adjustments -> Variations to colorize each layer. Takes some time and practice to avoid looking tacky. Check out some of my colorized monochrome images for example.
