Q. Digital Cameras With Poor Colour Correction?

I'm looking at alot of the picture son this site and for fun I often load a few images in Photoshop to look and see what the Colour Levels are.
Strangely enough, alot of the Digital cameras, even pro ones, have a problem with getting the colour correct on the images, which requires a little Photoshop tweaking.
Would this be due to users having a camera on a default setting where the camera is trying to interpolate or estimate on lighting condition or some other factor? Some photos look like they have a haze or faded. After you do a little Levels Adjustment in Photoshop they jump alive and you stare in disbelief because the difference is so dramatic.
Not that I mind doing touch ups in Photoshop, but I'm curious from other owners of digital cameras who use Photoshop pretty much on a daily basis. (I was gonna type "digital basis" My mind is sure off topic ;-) )
So, what camera do you have and how does the image compare when loaded in Photoshop and corrections done?

Ah, the color temperature issue. Yes, all digital cameras have this because you don't have someone printing your images and color correcting for you. You'd see the same thing if you shoot slide film, though not quite as much.
If you have a lot of images to correct and want to batch them, there are other, better, programs than Photoshop. Let me know if you're interested.
