If you are happy with it, isn't that all that you really require? Scan some negs and post a few shots!

Yes, you are eminently correct! I am happy with it, and it works well. I probably worded my inquiry wrong...I guess my question here really deals with asking if there are any "problem areas" associated with the Pentax 645 that I should be aware of.
Thanks for the reply. It is appreciated.

Chris, thanks. I had to "stare down" the film back on it...it loads a bit different than a 35mm camera! But...after an appropriate period of time, I figured it out.
Boy, the transparencies are so clean...

Well, I have a Pentax 645, and 3 lenses, the 55mm, the 75mm, and the 150mm. Also got a flash.
The Pentax 645 is a very fine camera. There are others that cost more, have more options, or give larger prints.
Just use what you got now, and add more lenses, if you are serious about medium format shooting. Don't worry about what others are using. It's not the camera, it's the operator and his/her personal vision that counts.
Nothing wrong with the Pentax 645 that I know of.
It's a winner!

Yeah they are a bit different to load but I have shot thousands of images with my 645 with no issues at all. I am a bit different as I don't use Pentax glass on mine, I use Carl Ziess lenses via an adapter.

Thanks, Walt. I am certainly serious about shooting medium format. I've been photographing for many years, using 35mm. And recently using digital camera (Minolta A-1) which has been great for long off-trail hikes when weight is a premium consideration.
The MF is appealing, of course, because of the clarity and size of the transparency. I have an Epson 2450 that works decently for scans. If I am really enamored of a particular shot, and want a large print, then that would be a choice to send out for a superior quality scan.
Chris, are those the Carl Zeiss Jena type lenses that go on some of the older cameras -- Russian made cameras? I'm assuming an adapter is available. Are the Zeiss lenses noticeably better?
Thanks, as always, for the replies. I appreciate them.

Yes they are Ziess Jenna. Are they better then Pentax glass? Hard to say because I have no comparison but I have been extremely happy with the sharpness of the Ziess glass.
