Well Thank you Robin.
Strolled through the portfolio in search of a good image and you only had to go back a year, huh???? (Hands on hips. Tap, Tap, Tap - you know; the foot). :)
LoL! Well . . . I'm glad you feel bad about . . . Uhhhhh . . . I mean . . . no need to feel bad about your comment. I'm certain it's not unlike how I feel when I have to add my two cents under one of your images and mention your attire while everyone else is busy comparing you to a floral version of Ansel Adams! But you want the truth or you don't - and we do. I suspect it's harder to tell each other BSTB than to be told BSTB!
Oooooh . . . and I appreciate that you recognize the genius framing job for Mary here!! Originally, I was not too thrilled about the green reflecting on the actual petals . . . but it kinda' grew on me.
Thanks (As Always) my friend!
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~

Ok...so I feel kind of bad about my comment on the Ibex rework...strolling through your portfolio (in search of something wonderful to comment on) when I happened upon beautiful, blue "Mary". Nothing but good things to say about this one Doyle...the darkness is a perfect backdrop for her lovely blue color, the clarity and (slightly off center)composition are excellent, and your choice of framing suits the subject quite well. This IS what I'm talking about my friend!
For the record, all shmoozing aside...this comment was written with the utmost sincerity. :)
Take care...Robin

Thanks again Joggie . . . I bought the first one I ever saw and planted it . . . and I'm not that young. I don't think they're rare, exactly . . . just not common. That was really the attraction to me.

Thanks Klaas . . . a unique (and natural color) indeed. When I first planted this I wondered if they were serious about it being a blue rose. It is really a "bluish" rose, but striking none-the-less. I appreciate the comment.

Annemette: BWA HAHAHAHAHA HA HA haha hehehehee. Yes - the 60s hippies are there. They drive BMWs and are about 65 yrs. old! Accountants with rheumatism and flashbacks :) LoL - Love getting your comments, I'm liking the Viking!

Thanks for the comment Ken....it suprises me that you hadn't seen one before . . . I think they'd grow well for you in Louisiana. They have a very reddish bud which blends from purple to blue as the red coloring fades and the bloom matures. Mary was the first rose I gave a female name too . . . but blue seemed to be appropriate for the name; all my rose names being Biblical in nature. Keep up the great floral work you've been doing and thanks again for commenting!

Very unusual color! The photo is very good, the low light allows the blue to glow IMO.

Great shot of a beautiful rose. I love this colour combined with the fresh darkgreen leaves and the light/shadow. Rainy greetings from Denmark PS: Well, if you moved to San Fransisco you could let your beard grow even as a captain(maybe...)because all the hippies from the 60“es are still going strong there, or so I“ve heard:-)
