Thanks for the info on the tablet! I'm still thinking wether it's worth spending on it, or better towards a better lens :)

Hi Ina, this is a reply to your note about the graphic tablet. My sister has a Wacom Intuos 3 (large size) tablet, a year old, and she has had great experiences with it. She definitely recommends for you to buy one for the kind of job you want. I have looked at Wacom on the internet and as I see Intuos has a larger screen and is much more expensive than Graphire4 but from the description is obvious that your choice, while reasonably priced, also has a lot to offer and takes a smaller space on your desk. Good luck with it, in fact it looks very attractive, let me know how it works. Best, Gyuri

Hi Endre, I was talking about following the outline (contour) of a subject in a picture. If you need to isolate a subject, you cut out the background, so you need a precise hand to follow the outline, especially curves. This is where a pen & graphic tablet (like a mouse pad) are better - supposedly - than a regular optical mouse.

Dear friends, you are talking about magic here, have no idea about all these PS tricks :-) but a nice post in the meantime!
Gratula Barátom, a kis sprotoshoz, ismét!

Thanks Gyuri, I'm looking at a fairly "inexpensive" one - if there is such a thing, since all is relative, and I don't make too much money from photography. It's called Wacom Graphire 4 - it has a pen and a mouse, interchangeable. I'd be interested if the pen really is more precise for lasso-ing and erasing. I'm usually working in the 2-4 pixel range to isolate images from backgrounds. Cheers, Ina

Hi Ina, it was my pleasure to dedicate to you. As for graphic tablets, I have never used one, but my sister, who is a book designer has one and it looks very impressive. If you are interested, I can get more information for you about her experiences. Cheers, Gyuri

Wow! Thank you Gyuri, I'm honored to see my name mentioned in your dedication! Great car and great background! I'm no expert in PS, I'm just using probably 25% of what's in there! I was considering though to get a graphic tablet - one that uses a pen instead of the mouse, it's much easier to follow contours - which I'm doing a lot lately. Great colors and really cool car! I'll get a red sportster into my faves! Best regards, Ina
