No, this really isn't George. But somehow, this bear reminded me of how George looked after a few beers too many in Norway. Brown Bear, Denali NP, Alaska.
I have thought a LOT about taking thsi type of a shot... you have truly inspired me, Steve !!!
Can we be friends ??
cheers ! Avi

Took me a while to find out that it was a... bear ! I think it had too much honey...:-))
Generally, i don't go senile about thjis kind of shot, but this one real fun, and the DOF is just perfect. The timing is good too. Could it have been better ? I have no clue - I was under the bear... :-)
Nan, the dark eye circles are just this particular bear's coloration. In the interior of the state, brown bears are commonly very light in color and are locally called "Toklat Grizzlies." The name comes from the Toklat River, a glacial river that carries silt that makes the river a light brown color. Bob, this bear was on a hill above me. Everything behind the bear in this photo is significantly farther away, so it blurs out in a long telephoto shot (probably shot at or 5.6).
Cool Image Steve. I love how the focus and depth was captured in this, with the appearance of everything up to and including the bear being in focus and the entire background out.
