Hi C.
Yeah i hear you man. Thanks for your comments. And I agree that the camera is just a tool. If I had a hangup on equipment I wouldn't be seen dead with a Holga in my hand.
Buying a 1D was more than i wanted to spend but as a working professional I need a camera that can go the distance and by that I mean work in all weather. I have had my 1V film camera drenched while shooting in the rain and it hasn't missed a beat. The first time i used my 20D in those conditions it died as you would expect. The 1D is built to the same specs as my 1V and i need that reliability. I need gear that can deliver my vision.

Very strange I must say! That you're forced to "deliver" digital images is easy to swallow, but you have to shot them digital sounds like complete nonsence. However, happy that you got the job and the results are really stunning. Have fun with your new toy. I'm sure you will appreciate the features. But I strongly believe the tools are just tools and your creativity and skills make 99%. The rest is for the HW...
Take care! CB

Hey C.
You don't have to convince me on the merits of film. I wanted to use it from the start and thought about shooting the project on my mamyia 67.
I was commissioned by the Museum of Art and History in Hamilton to produce the photographs for this exhibition. And the museums policy now on image making is with digital capture they have moved away completely from using film and this goes with all museums in NZ apparently.
The output size of the images is 1200 x 900. I had test prints back yesterday and I must confess they do look stunning though they certainly don't have the feel of a nice B&W on fibre paper.
I have had to ditch the 20D as it got wet on a photo shoot while working on this project. It still goes but I can't rely on it so I have a Canon 1Ds MK II on order. I hope it arrives soon. I'm looking forward to the full frame sensor and being able to use all my wide angles again.

Another winner, my friend! or should I say a wiener? Just curious, why you didn't use the 1V when this is for an exhibition. Don't tell me the D20 produces the better results, because you need to find somebody else to believe that! Which sizes have the prints?

Another beauty. I'm sure the exhibition (all these wonderful images on paper) will be worth a visit.
