These are the vast grasslands of the sub-Tibetan plateau in southern Gansu province. One can drive for hours here and see nothing but rolling hills, yak herds, Tibetan villages, and empty space. Altitude is approximately 3200 metres at this point. Quite high and beautiful. Notice the village composed of yurts (large tents) off in the distance.
Beautiful shot of the valley and the mountains beyond, I like the way you have shot the hills in the foreground zig zagging us through the photo. ( James this is actually a comment for Grasslands II which when I comment on it a screen comes up saying ) No Thread ID or Forum ID specified. Alison
James, I'm providing you, below, with my comments on Grassland II. Whenever I tried to post the comment, I kept getting an error message ... which gives me some comfort, because it is a stunning image, and I couldn't understand why there were no comments. Others must have encountered the same problem. Here it is ... "James, An awesome beauty, that so many of us will never get to see first hand. The vastness, the emptiness, the colors ... combine for a wonderful image. Extremely well done. Mark" I hope all is well with you. Mark
Beautiful, well composed landscape shot, James. The landscape reminds me on Iceland where I made holidays two years ago. Thanks also for dropping into my portfolio.
