The colour, saturation and sharpness are really well handled in this shot... it looks like it should be printed on canvas and placed in a den, above the fireplace. The warmth of the colours really brings a comforting aura to this image.

Hi jeanette, ah I stayed in bed too long - it was a wonderful morning :( I hate missing good light - especially here in Ireland...so unpredictable. I'm not a journalist but I do the journalist style of wedding photography, as regards papers I just work freelance with most of the work at the moment being for a horse breeders newspaper and usually mares with there foals, foals are beautiful but so hard to work with - I find patience and a mid length telephoto the easiest way.
Regards
Keith

I understand exactly what you mean - the light here is like the horse and the man are glowing themself.... It?s a macig light!
Sending photo?s to the newspaper, press-photographer, journalist ???

Wish there was the same quality of light every evening. Think all the pictures of horses I've done for the newspaper in the last month have been evening light, a low sun has such a warm glow, I rarely shoot midday and twilight is my favourite time.

It was shot in the late afternoon in December, sun was quite low so that gives the warmth to the picture, it had been a dull enough day and thankfully the sun broke through cloud at the magic time.
