About	I came across this fungus on a recent walk in the woods of Southern Michigan. I have not been able to find an identification on it, any help would be appreciated.

Margaret, Thanks for the comments on this and the other image. The shadow is not the lens cap, though I have been known to get a lens hood shadow in shots, it is the shadow of a branch with an insect gall.

Can't help on what type, but it is a great image, I love the colours and textures. Is the shadow on the right from your lens cap!
