Hello RM. This photograph was taken hand held with a B+W circular Polarizing filter: Focal lenght 28mm, Multi pattern metering mode 1/80 at F/5.4, Sensitivity ISO 200.
I desaturated part of the color in PS and applied a digital filter for increased contrast and depth.

Compositionwise, nice leading path (albeit somewhat hard to detect...). Your desaturation concept works well, an indirect method to underline your subject, clever idea. I like it very much.
