Linda essa imagem. Muito bem feita. O foco no homem segurando as velas ficou perfeito.
Vi a versão colorida. Valeu a pena colocar em p&b.

Wonderfull shot, but i think the b&w version is better, becose the man with the candles is becoming the dominant subject in the b&w version. He get's the attention becose the white candles are really striking. In the colourd version the candles are yellow wich is less striking, than the eye isn't pulled to one dominant subject wich is distracting (strange becose the man is the only sharp person, but still...) That;s why i like the b&w version better. Really a wonderfull shot! Keep it going! greets, Lex

Both fotos are excellent, Carmem, in my view, and both are so different in their message for me. The monotone has something absolute and essential it transmits, it is a picture that speeks to my mind, about this world and the necessity of believing in a higher power, about serenity you find in worship, transcendence. The coloured one evokes more of a gut feeling, transmitting a sense of life and community and it is the opposite: worship of a higher power but in this world. Excellent in both I find the selective use of DOF and contrast isolating the one worshipper with the candles (the yellow is a little too bright and might need some Ps work)determining this fabulous composition. Very well done! Regards Jorg

Carmen I really love this shot, it really shows what the whole world is being feeling these past days, regardless of who they believe in...we all have a mix of sadness and happiness, beaucase we lost a saint on Earth, but gain an allied in Heaven...
thanks for your comments on my work...
Parabens!

Maravilhosa.. Uma das suas melhores , ao meu gosto claro . Essa atenção e foco ao fiel com as velas tem mais força na versão em preto e branco , mas também gostei muito da em cores. Fantástica e dramática composição. Já para minhas favoritas..

Really nicely composed shot Carmen. I like the very selective focus on the man. A perfect choice of toning for this capture of somber occasion.

Hi Carmem, My appologies for remaining lurking for so long. It feels good to be back, though. Quite a moody image, the dark tones and the dimly lit face create a very profound and scerene atmosphere. Very well captured. It's nice to see how the man with the candles is singled out, becoming the dominant subject in this photo, surrounded by the clutter of (peripheral) worshippers around him. Very effective.
Cheers,
Hugo
