About	there were so many fishing boats out around the island during the herring run - & between the insatiable appetite of the fishers, the sea lions, harbour seals, gulls of every shape & size, bald eagles & a whole variety of ducks, i am amazed that any of the herring actually live through it all & that even some of the eggs manage to get fertilized. They sure don't stand much of a chance!
