Great job with the new camera Rebecca. This is a sharp photo so you made a good buy on the lens.

Nice spontaneous portrait if maybe a little bright in the background. I like her 'smiling eyes' as Gayle called them! :)

Wow! This is different from your latest series, and you got your new camera too! I like the composition and DOF. If you want some films to try, I would suggest Kodak BW400CN as the best of the C-41 type films. Konica VX400 is not bad either. I just bought a couple of rolls of Ilford XP2 Super 400, which is also supposed to be good. None of these films are as good as the true B+W films like Kodak Tri-X 400 which is my all time fav. If you can stand the wait to send it off to a lab, it is a wonderful film with a real 60's kind of feel. Do any of your old filters fit your new lenses???? If not you should invest in a yellow filter which helps boost the contrast in the C-41 films. I'll assume you are going to use the F80 mostly for B+W, and your Fuji for colour???? You might also want to try having your films scanned to disk when you get them developed, instead of having prints made. Then you can still do the photoshop thing. I am very excited for you Rebecca (can you tell), and I know you will love your new camera. I still prefer my F80 to my new D70.

You are cheating. With a pleasant face like that on one will concentrate on your photography, they just admire that smile. Well, the photography is good also. Del.

Ken, I was just snapping away with a new camera, and a different lens. I had just bought this lens off ebay and was trying to see if it focused properly. I didn't even consider a portrait, at the time. She just stopped by to tell me about her new job. I think now, that I know it works, I'm going to try my hand at a few portraits. That's one thing I've never really attempted.

Nice natural expression, Rebecca, and her eyes are properly in focus, so this works well! She does, though, seem a little squeezed into the frame, calling attention to her chin--could you have rotated the camera 90 degrees?

I still love my film. I got several rolls developed today. 2 were from my old FR2, and one roll from the N80. I'm still fumbling around with it. This was my first roll. I love the camera! I just bought a Tamron 28-200 and a flash for it. I'll let you know more when I take about a dozen rolls lol
