Superb lighting and colors, the contrast of warm sunlight and blue shades on the snow is wonderful. You did a very good job here (an example that shows what a small sensor camera renders in expert hands)

Thank you very much for your comment on my 'Molten Light'. When I posted it, I almost removed it right away because of how it looked. However, I am glad I left it as I received some encouraging comments. I am just starting, so do not know the finer points like how to fix the jpeg compression. However, a friend has given me a few pointers about picyures and I am going to get a program soon. I really appreciate your taking time to give me the advice.

Stunning image! I think I am going to change my equipment to the "cheap canon power shot" if I can produce images like this one... Equipment may help a bit, but it is the eye of the fotographer that counts... excellent composition and colours. 7+ Kind regards, Rafael

This is amazing how can some pictures taken in different countries look so similar... But when you see a landscape of this kind you can't but take a shot or two... Great shot. For me, a bit too warm colours for winter mood. But this is a matter of taste, anyway...

Outstanding colors! Perfect exposure and nice detail. The only improvement I can find with this is that it should be framed and hanging on the wall. Congratulations on such an awsome photograph! 7/7

They look like shooting stars! LOVE the light across the snow and the way the snow clung to only the shade side of the tree. Wonderful composition and shadows -- the tree makes a beautiful sculpture against the rising sun! Or is it a sunset? Did you get home way after dark? You certainly are dedicated to photography!!!

A Good Photographer with an inexpensive camera will turn out better work than a "hacker" with the best money can buy.
You are posting very good images. When you arrive at your destination, no one asks what kind of car you drove.

You know, Taran Morgan, everytime I comment some photo it jumps 3 new demands for commenting some others. Then I comment them, it jumps additional 3 per photo :-). I just can't stop me, In two days since I'm here, I've written really a lot of comments, I've seen so much nice photos :-). This is an awesome shot, I am loving the purple and orange colour on the snow. I find the tree perfectly placed in the image.
I had the same thoughts as Melissa, stick with what you know, it appears that you and your powershot have a great undetanding.

If I were you, I would stick with the cheap powershot for now. Seems you are producing great images with it (the two I saw). One might have the latest and greatest technology, but if there is no creativity behind the lens, what good is it really? This image as well as the other that you uploaded are very well seen and captured. Keep up the good work, and welcome to UF!
