Very simple composition yet very effective. The subject is very centered, usually not a good thing to do, but here it works well. The texture and patterns of the mat are great, and add a lot of variety yet unity. Nice piece.
I like this, though I agree with the previous commenter that there might be too much light in the upper right corner. It looks like you used artificial light and brought it a little too close in order to get the cup to cast a shadow. I really like the composition of this photo though, and the texture of the mat that the cup is on. I think it might be worth trying this next to a window with sunlight streaming in, if you have the opportunity!
