Spectacular shot Dave. DOF makes it look as though it's done in layers. Perfect exposure.

Crisp shot Dave.
This bird looks like he hasn't missed a meal, maybe cold but not starving.
Well done.

That's one of the things they do to help keep warm, besides eating, they puff up to get a layer of insulating air in their feathers. Usually they're a fairly sleek bird.
Thanks for the comments, Dottie!
Dave.

he looks all puffed out! Is that waht they do, or is that how they naturally loook? Dottie

Great shot. The crabapples (?) make a wonderful environment. I have to wonder if the title is a reflection on the photographer too. -30C is a bit too cold for me to be out shooting.

Excellent bird photo, Dave. Very sharp, well composed sand with beautiful colors.
Thank you for your very kind words about my "Hotel with reflections" and my "Sunset 1 and 2."
Best regards,
Rafi

Dave, What us photographers will do for a great shot but BRRRRRR! DOF is great. Love the color contrasts and how the berries match the bird's red. Great capture. Marilyn

Wow, what a fabulous shot! The bird is excellent and the berries add that extra something. It's too cold here for me to want to be outside, even for photography; you're brave to be out there at -30C

Beautiful shot with those red berries against the blue sky. That poor bird is puffed up like me in my down coat.

Wow! The colour of the berries matches his feathers wonderfully! Nice clear shot, great detail. I can't believe your camera was still working at those temperatures but I can relate. It's -33C here today with the windshield even lower. I had some bunnies at my feed last night but it was too dark to get a clear picture. Where's your chickadee?

Great shot Dave. Amazing you can get out at that temperature and take pictures. I'm afraid to take the equipment out because I keep reading about condensation. Good for you. Great lighting, sharpness, capture and colour.
