I almost passed this over in the thumbnails. Sure glad I didn't. The sense of scale here is tremendous. I love the simple graphic design but what makes the picture so remarkable are the textures and the unusual perspective of earth above and sky below. The only change I would suggest is to crop out the little bit of lower slope at the bottom left of the picture. It keeps drawing my eye away from the climbers.

Joellen, I enjoyed seeing this pic because I was just there...ok, I didn't ascend any further than the 4WD would take me, but I may have an image of this cinder cone. I'll post it soon and you tell me if it is the same cone. Very cool.
