About This is a photo I took a few months back. The snakes head is about the size of my hand. I apologise for the noise as the lighting was very poor. I have attached another below to show a bit more detail.

To be honest Dave, I couldn't really tell you. I wasn't paying too much attention that day. Not one of my good days.

Sorry.

Sucuri, one holds so gently,
but the snake has bitten,
so you can feel,
the true nature within,
the fire and the passion,
of natures gift.

Unbelievable shots Judi but I think even with a barrier there I'd be hard pressed to take those photos. You've achieved fabulous clarity. Well done. What sort of snake is it?

OK, you have the reason.
Indeed, impossible to refuse the beautiful of that kind of "bad" reptil.
Remember that in the "Genesis" (Bible) the demon is a snake. I like too much snakes, but here in Patagonia there are not poisonous and bright colors snakes like yours.
Here I am in Amazonas with a little "Sucurí".
Kisses

Ezequiel, remember where there is good there is bad. So although we have the most poisonous snakes we also have so much beauty that you soon forget about the negative.

Aww thankyou so much Cagatay. I am so pleased you like it. There was a barrier between him and I though...thank goodness. But it was a surprise when I opened my eyes and I saw him. Even though there were other snakes around me...I seem to be drawn to him.

MaLuisa, I was about 30 cm (1 foot) from his head. There was a perspex barrier between us though. And this in itself created a focus problem.

Oooh with comments like that, your kneecaps are going to get a biting...LOL!! Thanks Ameed, I am pleased you liked the second one also. I preferred that one too, but felt the first one is more in focus and the tongue detail was more appealing to the viewers. That is why I ended up submitting both together.

Ezequiel, in our country the only good snake is a dead snake. I don't believe in killing animals unless necessary but when you live with the worlds 10 most poisonous snakes you look at them a little differently.

Now this particular snake was well and truly alive.

Good snap shot, I would not stay around the fellow to long. I lived in a rainforest of belize for 12 years (village school teacher) and saw a lot of snakes. All my best, James

I think I've started something here, Judi. I post one little picture of a garter snake and suddenly Judi becomes Snake Woman! Nice closeup. The funny thing is, the detail on these snakes is so interesting. Well done. Now go back to your candy snakes!

oh, did you know that I love Snakes daer Judi?
It is a nice photograph, but I have noticed that YOUR focus is on the body not the head of the snake, or maybe my eyes are too tired?

Thanks Luis. I had a raging headache that day and ended up lying down on a nearby seat while I waited for the family. When I opened my eyes I saw this fellow and went over and took a photo of him. If I had been thinking straight I would've payed more attention to the camera settings, hence the noise. Fortunately there was a barrier between us.
