There were many tracks like these (deer?) visible this summer along the sun baked shorelines of the Mississippi river, as I looked over the side of the old Rt 66 (Chain of Rocks) bridge, now a pedestrian/bicycle only bridge.
I initially started looking into this picture to see what kind of track it infact was, (and still thinking that its something other than a deer), but in the process, began to realize that it was something else. I stopped seeing tracks and began to see the marble-like appearance of the mud. The definition and shadows perfect. You can actually see the texture. Great shot.
