City - Old Chelsea State - QUEBEC Country - Canada
About
The recent Aurora display included some magenta along with the greens. This shot includes Orion near the center. This indicates a southern direction. My previous shot on usefilm shows the Dipper (north). This storm was 360 degrees and was an awe inspiring experience. Chelsea is about 20 minutes north of Ottawa, Canada. 30 sec f:4, ISO 400, Neat Image
I haven't seen the Aurura like this for years. Nice capture! I'll remember your exposure settings if I ever have a chance. Oh yea, except I "UseFilm". It's a thin chemicaly treated strip of mylar that reacts to light :-) Seriously good shot you have here. The stars botherd me untill I realized what they where. I don't know if I would remove them or not. The more I think about it, if you removed them the I guess you would have to change the caption. I am a little slow but eventualy I figure things out :-) Again, Excellent image!
Darrell, this is sheer brilliance. The only Auroras I've seen in person were in black & white.
The darkness of the ground and sky in contrast with the magenta/greens provides for a pleasing composition. And the stars are clearly visible which adds a lot to the final image.
Extremely well done! 7+
