We were about to enter a small cafe for breakfast after an early sunrise shoot...then I suddenly asked the model to stand in the middle of the street where the reflection of the sun was hitting a large window. I knew the back ground would be overexposed...and the centeredness was to capture most of downtown Flagstaff. We had to work guickly before the street light behind turned green.
Thanks for the idea about the fill flash...I'll do this next time and have it well planned in advance.
Well I don't know what to think of this shot, on one hand it could be used to illustrate why it's usually a bad idea to center the main subject. On the other hand I find the situation funny, a model alone in the middle of a city road. I think there is something to explore here. About the exposure, try to expose for the background and is a fill light for the model, this way you will avoid overexposing the background.
