Hi Jorg, I found the earlier image. No problems opening it, but I was on a dial up connection at work, and it is so slow it's difficult to move around too many images. I like them both, but prefer the second with the very saturated colours and contrast, which make the reflections stand out more, and just make it a more colourful image. I happen to like green anyway, so find this photo very appealing! If I hadn't seen the second I probably wouldn't have noticed a need for improvement, something I have to work on myself. I guess this whole process of having others look at and comment on our photos is the idea of UF, it gives us ways to improve or at least experiment with different ideas in our own work.

Hi Flatliner, thanks for your appreciative and well perceiving comments. I did in fact focus on the reflection of the tree trunks in the water, because I thought that a) this is the most captivating detail in this composition and b)I hoped that f8 even at 85 mm would give me enough detail in the woods not to make them blurry.I thought i did not need perfect sharpness there because they are there in this pic for color and mood, only!

I really like this picture. I like the changes you've made from the original. It really brings out the green(my favorite color) more. I also like that the objects in the foreground give the background good size perspective. As far as I can tell you seemed to have focused on the water in the center rather than the trees. Is that so? If so, why? If not, how did you focus?

Hi Jorg, Outstanding tones. I think the rework hits the spot perfectly. The darkness adds quite alot to the atmosphere.
Well composed, with the horizon above the centerline, emphasising the green reflection of the trees. Very good shot!

Fantastic nature shot.. i miss the summer when i see this one! =) Can feel the smell and the fresh air there... and hear all the sounds! =) Calmness surrounds it.. Almost like meditation to look at your shot. Cheers!
