It was more like the 400 end and I was in a boat.
The 100~400 has a built in optical stabiliser which means I can shoot hand held at a 1/60th even at the 400 setting.

Very sharp picture for such a long zoom! (Even if you were near the 100 end of the range.) Were you in a moving boat yourself? Nice composition and DOF too.
