About	I should stress this: my photos of the NYC police on 8/29 shouldn't be taken as a sour comment on them. They were good guys, friendly and helpful. The photos are dramatic, not documentary.

Thanks for sharing your pictures of the GOP convention zone, I really enjoyed looking at them. Hopefully things will stay relatively calm even for G.B.'s arrival.

Unlike yourself, I purposely avoided the area as much as I could although I did have dinner at a diner just across the street from the post office. I shot 2 rolls of mostly "touristy" photos so there won't be any images of the "convention". It's going to take a while before I can scan them, my computer broke before I left for NYC and I haven't had a chance to put it back together yet.

I haven't seen so many police in my life. Mind you I have never felt so safe in NY. The streets around Madison Square Garden are a mess. It seemed to take forever to get to B&H from the Empire State building.

It was reported here as going fairly smoothly. I guess sometimes they are paid to not look too accomodating.
