I like the blurr and all the lights at night. Feels so crazy - wish I was there again with a better camera (mavica's just don't cut it).

Hi Paul,
You really captured the feeling of excitement, getting caught up in the middle of all these rollerbladers! Great job.
Best regards, SteveR

thanks Hugo... I did not think of using a flash.. probably because my built in flash can get partially blocked sometimes with that lens (did not have my external flash with me) but your right, the flash would have created a very different image..thanks

I agree with John. Your "Rush Hour" is perfect the way you took it and the blurring of the houses adds to the sense of hurry. Thanks for your comment on my ""I'll beat them all". Regards, Rafi

Hi Paul, Very good use of motion blur. It creates a very dynamic image. Well composed too, but I find the background a bit soft too, but as this is a hand held shot, I think you handled it pretty good! Cool shot! Have you considered a fill flash? I think that would render the image a little less abstract, as the roller skaters are barely recognisable as such.
Cheers,
Hugo

great shot paul, i think i agree that a tripod might've been nice to get that background sharp but u cant always carry a tripod everywhere u go, nonetheless still a fabulous photo, gives a great sense of movement and the speed of the skaters, keep up the nice work!

impressive focus in the background considering you did not have a tripod. the bluriness was a good effect as it really does give the impression that they were rushing right by you. i like the composition, the building is great i was able to recognize Paris right away! Kessia

If you used a tripod it would have been much better: the skaters would have been blurred anyway, while the building and the trees would have been sharp. Ciao
