About No, no it's just our good old sun - sunset 2004-06-16 21:22 CET

Captured with stacked lenses (300mm + 2x TC). No PS - only framed and cropped.

By the way, this dark points is not dust - these points are sun activities.

Your feedback is very appreciated.

With warm regards, Gerry

Dear Jim,

regarding your question: The feeling and my first impression of the Mark II is inspiring. The mark II is very heavy but very solid build. Before I was able to shoot some "good" pictures I had to study the handbook (and I'm still reading). You can quickly change a lot of the settings but you have to know how and which buttom you have to press ;-) The capturing of moving objects is very easy and the autofocus works very, very good. It's amazing and nearly unbelievable - they are all razor sharp.
At the moment I'm struggling with macro compositions. I'm shooting a lot of pictures but they are not as sharp as expected ... but as mentioned before ... I'm still reading and try to understand the mark II.
The ISO possibilities from 50 - 3200 are amazing. You can make pictures with few light and the pictures have no or nearly low noic. In comparison with my D60 it's like day and night. And by the way the battery .... I shot until now around 1400 pics and it's still half-full ;-)

.... so far I'm happy and I'm sure I'll manage these macro issues.

With best regards, Gerry

Gerhard,
I tell you that I've put this image among my favourites.
It is really incredible, full of poetry, simple and superb at the same time!
The composition with the horuzontal clouds is very beautiful. The general darkness is ideal.
There is mystery in everywhere.
Congrats!! and thanks for sharing your pic
Miguel
