My dad, who served as a Filipino Scout in the opening days of World War II, and as a U.S. Army soldier in the Korea War. In April 1942, he participated as a POW in the Bataan Dealth March. A few days later, he escaped the march by taking off his uniform and walking away, blending in with the local population. He past away in February 1992. Ironically, over fifty years later, for a short moment, I was handling Iraqis POW's in Desert Storm.
I, too, would add my thanks to your father and men like him. My own father served in the Navy during WWII - Atlantic Fleet. Passed away in '87. I think of him often. Must give you a great sense of pride. Regards, Bill. PS I know I shouldn't rate this picture, but I'm breaking the rules, based on the footnotes. Again, thank you for sharing.
