About Well, they must grow there... Why else would they call them "Iceland Poppies?" These happen to live in Palm Desert, CA.

John,
Incredible colors...like this composition with varied hues in the background, but the main subject tack sharp. Nice!

You've captured them in the sunlight so well - no washout, nice detail - excellent job. Cheers!

Color is unbelievable,as the detail of this very close shot. The composition could not be better...or to be honest,I would do just the same.
I like your comments, they are clever, never are a waste of time.Yes,I thought in your sugestion, only did not go that way,to avoid the Post Card type, since that picture is in that dangerous boarder line. But your opinion or question is quite valid, maybe I should do that.Santiago is a pleasure: trees, many trees, they need that ,due to the deep hole Santiago is, in winter oxygen is at premium. The downtown is old, delicious old style, but preserved, nice, charming. All around is the new Santiago, skyscrapers, glass,Chicago school of architecture.People is charming, not uptight ,as in Europe.Traditional trade,in streets, few malls.Safe, very safe place.Discipline, order, good manners.Still remember this? If you can, go there, but no further than November, weather is pretty hot in summer.
Thanks and regards
jorge
