Optimal clarity and a really beatiful flower.. very cool lighting and details, it gives the feeling of a nice, calm morning..
hmm, i didn't notice distraction from the black areas.. but what i would suggest is u increase the contrast between the picture and the background to let the flower just pop up off the picture.. see this to know what i mean http://www.usefilm.com/image/258221.html

Very nice composition and very well placed flower. It has a very gentle and fragile feel, like a strong wind would fly it's all apart.
Background is very beautiful and supports flower like a dream. Tehnically very well made picture with touch of emotion to fire up feel and smell of flower.
