My eye is naturally drawn to the brighter areas, so it's a constant battle to see the subject. Is it fixable? Dunno. Nice subject & composition, however!

Looks like you already named your poison! Maybe if you dodged the shadows of the man in the middle and burnt in the edges? Just a thought. I agree about cropping off the bottom. Anyone who has been to a farm auction know the story this tells. Good capture!

I think some of the bottom could be cropped and maybe a little bit on top. Just a little to dark. I love the composition, I really think you have something here.
