Thanks, Lars, for the additional comment. You and I think along the same wavelegth. I did use the eye dropper for the pink mat at the edge of the frame. In fact the whole tonal range on this picture was done with the Set Point White and Set Point Black eyedroppers from Levels. The pink color was picked up with the eyedropper from the middle of the upper petal.
You are a very lucky guy to work in a photo lab. As far speaking German, there is nobody to speak with, but occasionally I write a few words. If and when I will visit Germany, I will get to speak German again. Tschuess! Alex

Thanks for your comment. My explanation for the frame: I used to use various colors for my frames, including white. Then a lady photographer in LA, who has some 40 years of experience with flower pictures, told me to use a hue from inside the flower. That's where the pink color comes from. De gustibus non disputandum. Or, one can't please everybody. In fact it is easier and faster to use white, but I have to follow my guru.
