Thank you all for your comments. It's nice to get feedback and interesting to see the differing points of view. I can be just a little bias when it comes to any image of my grandaughter, so I find it helpful to see my work through your eyes. I'm attaching a color version of this one in a slightly different pose that shows more of her eyes just for you Petros.
Russell, no apology necessary on your comments on "Hero". You pointed out some details that I had missed. Great eye. I really appreciate all the sacrifices that you and your fellow firemen make.

She seems like an little old dolly. I like the effect and the crop and I find the eyeys are extra elegant, like a fascinating lady...the title is also appropriated, I would say perfect.

Debi,
I like the technique you used here of adding color to small spots in the shot. Great job! On a side note, I hope I did not sound to rash on your shot of the "Hero". I had just come off a rather busy shift, and I feel that I may have vented too much on your shot. Again I am sorry if I sounded a little rough. Later my friend,
Russ

Debi, you have a beautiful grandaughter, but I wish I could see her eyes. I don't think that the washed out look on the hat and dress really work. Although, I see your point about the extra emphasis it puts on the face.
Love your work. Keep posting :-)

Hi Debi. Stunning! A fresh look at a common subject. I like the technique. Your deft touch in Photoshop has really helped this high key treatment and makes this picture for me. I echo everything that was said by William and Chris. Well seen! Great work! I hope the editor is looking. 8>
Cheers! Jeff
