Hi Dan:
A wonderful and magic place. The colours and the light are fantastic too.
Congratulations.

Dan, this is a nice waterfall shot taken at a good perspective. To answer your question on my falls shot... The trick is to take it at a slow shutter, and yet not have the highlights in the water blow out. I like using aperature priority, so to get the slow shutter I used iso 100, set the aperature high probably around f22, this produces a slow shutter of aprox 3 or 4 seconds. The camera should be on a tripod. I also use exposure lock to lock the exposure on the brightest point such as the bottom of the falls in your picture. Some experimentation is involved to get the water to blur the way you want it. Depending on the water, sometimes 1/15 of a second is slow enough, a small trickle of water at longer exposures, 10 sec for example will produce a misty effect. Your falls here is a lot of water moving pretty fast, and I think 1/30 of a second would do nicely.
Good shot and keep up the good work.

Forgot to mention that I like this shot. What I might have done differently is to have the falls uncentered a little bit. Otherwise it's great!

Hi Dan. Saw your question on another photo asking about how to get the waterfall to look so soft. Here's the very basic answer:

Use a tripod and set your aperture to it's smallest setting (Highest number). That is your starting point. to REALLY get that silky look, you will want to consider investing in a neutral density filter or 2. For this shot you would have wanted one for sure. Too sunny for it to stop down enough.

Hope this makes sense!

Dan,
Very nice color mixture, the composition is very nice, also the lighting is good.
The only thing that could make this better is the use of a Neutral Density (for the waterfall).
Very good work Dan.

Best regards,
