I saw the same photo in a travel book ... guess it exists in hundreds of versions :-)

Not plagerized at all, I just felt some serious deja' vu when I saw it. If you look at the background it looks like this photo was taken from almost exactly the same location. Wierd, what are the chances?

Boy, Jason, you scared me. Your comment makes it sound like Edith had directly plagerized the photo, but it's clearly a different gargoyle.
Either that, or it moved, which would be even scarier!!!!!!! :-)

I thought your picture looked familiar. Here is the original version from Kodak's book "The Joy of Photography" copyright 1991. Page 34

Actually he looks a little angry. Probably because of rude pigeons or something...
:-)
While at work here (with only Photo Editor available), I took the liberty of adjusting your contrast and gamma levels just a touch. It helped with the sky, but it made the gargoyle too dark. With Photoshop, I'm sure you could isolate the sky and bring in the moodiness and make only small adjustments to the stone.
Nice view. Nice composition with the Eiffel Tower back there at the horizon. I think a polarizing lens would have gone far to counter the haze in the sky.
