Ursula, I didn't notice this before when you showed me this but it reminds me of palm tree branches overhanging on the beach. This is a really a cool photo.

Interesting. The thumbnail almost looks like a desert landscape.
My scrim was a large, circular fabric reflector, not used as a reflector, but a diffuser, softening the light shining through it.

Here is the same. something is bothering me. FIrst of all, the paper or the background, I can see the pointilleness of the structure, and comparing with the texture of the feather that is disturbing me,even on my photos!!! The shadow in front is distracting me, cause it is not like the feather. the angle is not good for me. I see the details of the feahter but dont see it very well. Is it a Macro or Close-up. I think I am on the half way here. and that is disturbing me. uf. I prefer the other one. In this one I cannot see the fragility of the feather. Uf. And I dont know but something is bothering me in this one. Sorry, just a feeling. Best shootings, my dear Ursula. Kiss, Biliana

this is definitely more balanced this way - we miss some of the detail that the other had along the end of the feather but it is definitely a better photo -
hot spots - I avoid them by using a faster shutter speed - but it plays into my whole style...

Hi Ursula; this is beautiful, and especially in B&W. I love the semi-abstract composition. The detail in the feather is exquisite, and the shadow and light areas perfect. This one goes into my favorites. Thanks for commenting on my recent landscape. Cheers. Craig

A stunning surrealistic image. The interplay between the darks and the lights is great. Well done.
