Very interesting idea, I agree there needs to be some cropping on the sides, but if you have a chance to reshoot that might be accomplished by going vertical, there apear to be some sort of hills behind the barn that could add a bit of intrest to the overall photo. At the same time explore the DOF recommendations.
Hi James. Very good idea here. I agree with the previous comment about the crop. Additionally, if you have the opportunity to reshoot the image, I would try it woth nearly no dof, trying to enhance the boot in the image. The subject is very nice, it would be worth the try.
interesting.. from the thumbnail.. I thought the boot on the pole was a person walking towards the barn.. Very good eye, the bar & the boot fit so well together! I think it would look better cropped a bit.. To get rid of the empty space to the left & the ugly stake/pole to the right. I am by no means a professional or knowledgeable, but I was so intigued by the image I couldn't resist playing with it. I probably ruined the point of the photo, but I thought I would show it to you anyway. Hope you don't mind!
