"this is spot on!" Great work, really! I think that all the elements here work well to convey a sense of depression and isolation. I disagree with the comment about the expression - I don't see it as a placid expression at all, but rather an absence of emotion, which is what depression is defined as, the inability to feel pleasure, this captures that exceedingly well. Happy to have happened upon your portfolio, really great stuff I'm finding here!

Alisa, I did not mean it like that.
I am a full time photography student and get this alot of the time... or maby not me personally but the tutors seldom say things like "Yeah that is spot on!" wich you need to hear once in a while...

Funny things with university tutors and people on the internet is that they always have to find something that is wrong... There must be something atleast for the tutors since they get paid to look at things...

Hmmh... maby if I move the toe a bit to the right so taht it creates a little space that it would be better...

Uhhhh..I agree with Koen. A bit scary..'punishment' comes to my mind. Well really alot of 'stories' come to my mind. Love the shadow on the wall.

Helena, this is an emotionally engaging photograph, evocative of the extreme loneliness that might lead some to consider committing suicide. The shadow of the model's head on the wall particularly contributes to this mood, as does the blue cast. In this sense the photograph works well for the project.

However, I find the placid/peaceful look on the model's face somewhat discordant with the rest of the scene. It would seem that some show of negative emotion would be in order ...
