Dave,
Ahhh, you're still about. Re your question on my work as yet I've not made the lens purchase. I'm gonna go for the 70-200 f2.8 but Alison (who you see in my work) demanded we go on holiday so money went else where! Got some great pics in Greece though! My scaning is indeed poor quality. It's always a flatbed from the 7x4 print and I don't do any work afterwards as no PS on my laptop. I do have some applications but don't really spend the time checking them out. I'm gonna get a Minolta or Canon neg/slide scanner but yet again need to save some dosh.
This pic appeals. I can see why Rui liked it as this is typical of something he would capture. Darrin would probably too be proud. Nice composition, good colour and I expect truely represents the area your were visiting.
Top marks. Matt

Very natural street shot. Incidental, perhaps, but very well framed. (I answered your question in my last photo, thank you, Dave, for your comment and attention)

Thankyou, Kim. The blown-out wall is a scanning artefact, as the original slide is fine. I have had trouble scanning some of my slides, since the dmax of the lab's scanner doesn't seem able to cope with the depth of brightness detected by my slides. Highlights are consistently blown out, dark areas scan too dark. I have been considering buying a scanner, and I have been recently looking at the minolta 5400. However I don't think there is a scanner available which is capable of the dmax that I want.

Great exposure on the little boy.... doesn't matter that the wall is blown out, as the whole look of the boy draws me in. As well, the framing is great with him not totally centred... it lets me see the background and get a refrence to his life. Looks like it was a very interesting/ eye-opening visit. What made you decide to go to Nepal?

Lucky incidental for you ;-) The child has a curious and maybe a little worried expression (he has a stone in the hand!), he is very pretty, but he has also a funny look with that hair and that jacket bigger than him, I love him! Bye Max
