About Location: Off Highway 1 near Santa Cruz. The above shot as how i got the colors is as follows. I purposefully OVEREXPOSED the shot by 1.5 stops, as i wanted the water to look like a foam and capture the waves crashing against the rocks. I used not 1 but about 2 Neutral density hand made cokin gels to cut the light and used Graduated Blue filter. Little did i realize, when you overexpose a Slide Film, the whole natural colors gets altered. So, this image has NO Photoshop manipulation except for auto levels, and little bit of blue colors added..

Subha, I agree with Audrey Reid.

You have done a great experiment with multiple filters etc. hmmm... but i m not quite fond of the picture here... maybe, its just me. This could be because, the way the scene is colored...the rocks are splitted with multiple colors thats the difficult part of using the graduated filters. And fg is kindof overexposed...

Were you trying something like John shephard or Ken duncan to get foggy effect of the water and such? Check out these great photogs site. They are amazing.

Keep trying and show us your great efforts. I really appreciate your experiments. Keep it up.

Elangs.

Hi, Subha!

Very impressive! What I like most in your landscapes is they are always full of atmosphere and magical poetry. Very unusual treatment of a subject that is almost ever shown by its beauty only. You has a very creative approach of your subject, giving us another point of view. Many congrats,

Marcelo.
P.S. This one is going to favorites.

Hi Subha, hmmm...I'm not mad about the outcome of this shot, but then that's just my personal taste.
More important point here is I admire your creative mind and your willingness to try this kind of shot with lots of thought behind it.
I also like the composition, though I'm trying hard to figure how this might look in a straight shot!
Taking nothing away from your hard work and good try.

An excellent image, and more marks from me because there is not so much Photoshop manipulation.
You may appreciate this overexposed digital shot of mine (Digital works like slides in that you must expose correctly for the highlights) which was "resuced" and recyled for a different feel by various manipulations. See the D7iI Gallery (P2) at
