About
The famous Panchachulli peaks in western himalayas at sunset as seen from Munshiyari. Pancha in Sanskrit stands for five and chulli for oven. Folklore says the five Pandava brothers, while on their way to heaven, had their last meal cooked here on these earthen ovens and that was how they were formed. This is Peak 1 of the 5 peaks and I found the perfect conical shape to be quite unique. Generally, on a clear day, the sunset is golden here. However, it was cloudy on this particular day and the peaks were all covered. However, just after sunset, the clouds suddenly opened up to show us a glimpse of the peak. The "chulli" was clearly on fire then.
