Thanks for your comment Ian, but I think I might have gone "a bit crazy with the Cheese Wiz"(Focus magic) on this shot. It was far to soft and I may have over compensated. Sal

there are great graduations of colour and tone in the gearings very warm, almost beginning to glow from behind that grease. Lovely image. Since someone mentioned it I too sense an over sharpening: perhaps u.f.s default on upload?

You are right. The exosure was long and I was steadying the camera against another part of the mechanism. It looked alright in PS, but it is a bit over-sharpened looking here. I think a shot like this is all but worthless unless it's tack sharp. I appreciate your frank criticism. Sal
