Here is the talk as best as I can recall: "When the metal is taken out and is glowing it is 2000 F. When it cools a few moments the red is gone but it is still hot. Around 600F. Meat cooks at 200-300F. You do the math. It is best not to touch it."

Never seen hot pink as in actually hot before.
