Good times, as the mighty Chic once sang... years ago. This photo was taken years ago... it's a scan of a 12 year old print... a scratched, filthy, fading old print. Digital trickery could make it seem all new and 'nice', but what the hell is the point in that? I love the imperfections of age, the telling signs that things have changed, that time is creeping inexorably onward... the past is a cracked, dirty old mirror reflecting back all kinds of memories, and that's how it should remain...

LOL! You write like a cross between Edward Lear, Charles Bukowski and the brothers Grimm! I am laughing from the gut. Hmm... I am of the opinion that digital and film both have their merits, but since I got my Leica I am firmly swinging in the direction of film again. Gradually more and more of my work will be taken with the beautiful old machine that is the M3... it has a tender soul that the 5D just doesn't have.
O my brother. Us vecks we need to be real beezoomy and smeck at the digital vecks, all over our gullivers. All the veshch's we feel for film will come true, o my brother.

Good on ya Patrick. Great shot with all the sentiment of your title potrayed for all to see. I love the natural wysiwyg of this photo. Not enough of this on this site. I am so tired of digitally enhanced pictures of mutton, made to look like lamb. It's time we learne to take good pictures, not produce them on a computer.
