The photograph entitled Alf is the first in a documentation-series from a nursing home, taken in 2005. «In recent years many derogatory things have been written about nursing homes and conditions for the elderly. Through this documentation, I would like to direct attention to the good life in nursing homes.
I follow Alf and his wife Liv over an extended period, in their every-day life at the nursing home. This includes getting up in the morning, mealtimes, Thursday exercises, Wednesday café, and their interaction with their neighbours and the nurse’s aids. Also worth mentioning are the pleasant evenings where Alf and Liv sit in their room, sip a glass of wine and reflect over life.
In spite of living in an institution, one can still have a passion for life.»
